About My Writing
When not indulging in feminist critiques and random diatribes, I write erotic romance, historical romance, and young adult fantasy—because otherwise all the stories crowd together in my head and keep me from hearing myself think.
Under the name Olivia Waite, I write erotic romance for Ellora’s Cave. “Generous Fire” is a smutty Dickensian story with a steampunk flair. “Hearts and Harbingers” is an offbeat Regency romance with brothels instead of ballrooms and nary a chaperone in sight.
My completed YA fantasy, titled Bread and Alphabets at the moment, is about a young northern girl who loses her family, befriends a yeti, and ends up in a desert kingdom trying to save her yeti friend’s life. There is a vizier, a sorceress, a puzzle garden, a blind river-god, and lots of singing. Some things aren’t what they seem, and people learn lessons. Of course, many of those lessons are very specific things like “trying to kill a yeti single-handed is not going to end well for you.”
Other future books are simmering in the brainpan as we speak. Some of them have extensive outlines, which is my favorite way of starting a story. I’ll be working on the next book while querying for the first. In the meantime, here is a picture of an alpine meadow covered in flowers and fog.
